James Malley, S.E.

The 2022 editions of AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings (ANSI/AISC 360-22) and the Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings (ANSI/AISC 341-22) represent the latest in structural steel design and construction. This presentation will cover the latest updates, including the exciting addition of concrete-filled coupled composite plate shear walls to both standards. Other major additions to the Specification include clarification on what to include in structural design documents; a new appendix on filled high-strength composite members; and a major expansion of the appendix on structural design for fire conditions. The Seismic Provisions now include an appendix on nonlinear response history analysis. These and many more developments will be discussed to orient users on how to start incorporating these latest standards into their practice.
