Quick Anchor is an easy-to-use computer program to calculate the tensile and shear strengths of cast-in-place and post-installed anchors (single or a group) in accordance with the provisions of ACI 318. Through a simple and intuitive interface, it only takes a few minutes to input all the necessary information for the program to calculate the strengths of a single anchor or a group of anchors in four tensile failure modes and three shear failure modes as well as splitting, as specified in ACI 318. However, behind the simplicity, the program uses a very sophisticated computation algorithm to address a wide array of situations that one can encounter in the field, many of which are not directly addressed by ACI 318. Users can quickly check a short version of the output to get final results or they can go through a descriptive, detailed version of the output to go through the critical steps of calculation in order to have a better understanding of different failure mechanisms. It is an ideal tool for doing quick iterations for design purposes as well as computing the design strength of existing anchor(s).

Major features:

  • Supports the standards of 2006 IBC to 2021 IBC.
  • Incorporates provisions of ACI 318-05 through ACI 318-19.
  • Incorporates cast-in-place headed bolts, headed studs and hooked bolts.
  • Incorporates post-installed adhesive, undercut, and expansion anchors.
  • Checks for all special seismic requirements.
  • Anchors can be arranged in grid and perimeter patterns.
  • Supports application of direct tension, shear forces in x- and y-direction, and bending moments about three axes.
  • A clean and intuitive user interface
  • Detailed PDF output showing all calculation steps.
  • Quick Anchor is supported by an up-to-date database of the commercially available anchors from major manufacturers: Hilti, Simpson Strong-Tie, DEWALT, and ITW Red Head.

Q2. What if I am upgrading from an older version of Quick Anchor that came with a USB license key? Will you send me a new key?

A2. See instructions in the "License Information" tab.

Q3. I have purchased a new computer. How do I install Quick Anchor on that?

A3. To install Quick Anchor on your new computer, first download the program installer from the link given on the Download tab. Save the installer file anywhere on your new computer, and then double-click on it to start the installation. Wait till you receive confirmation that the installation is finished.

Q4. Why am I getting a virus alert from my Norton Anti-Virus program?

A4. Unfortunately, the alert you are getting from Norton Anti-Virus program is a common "false-positive" for new applications. This alert comes from a review-based classification where new files that have "no reputation info available" are suspected to be threats. We have already submitted a dispute to Norton regarding this. Please be assured our programs are free of viruses or malware. To switch this Norton warning off, please click on "Options" and then " Restore and exclude this file" as shown below:
