This 6-page laminated reference guide provides an easy-to-follow 9-step procedure for the allowable stress design of masonry in accordance with the 2012 IBC and the 2011 MSJC Code. Masonry design by the allowable stress design method must meet the allowable stress design provisions in IBC Section 2107, which requires the design to comply with seismic requirements of IBC Section 2106 and Chapters 1 and 2 of the MSJC Code with some modifications. Illustrations are provided for ease of understanding, along with worked out examples.
