Kevin Mueller, PhD, P.E.

Structures are subjected to a wide range of loads during their service life. In the past several decades, blast loading on high-profile and critical infrastructure has become an important design consideration. This seminar will introduce the fundamentals of blast loading (intentional and accidental) and subsequent structural response and façade design requirements.
Learning Objectives:
  • Understand the development of blast loading (intentional and accidental).
  • Learn about the treatment of blast effects as a structural load.
  • Understand the importance of non-structural blast-resistance design.
  • Learn about the potential benefits of utilizing resilience-based blast design on projects.
